Juicy Instant Pot Chicken Breasts and Gravy are so easy to make. There is no browning required. Your chicken breasts will need to be seasoned well though. We like to get ours already seasoned from our local grocery store. They use a red rub seasoning that is so delicious and saves me time by not having to season them myself before pressure cooking.

We tried this recipe two different ways. Once with pre-seasoned chicken breast from our local grocery store and again with seasoning from home. Both are pictured below. I will have to say the chicken breast with the red rub seasoning (pre-seasoned) came out the best. I will have to find out what mixture they use.

If your local grocery store does not offer this, you will need to generously season them yourself before pressure cooking.
When we season meat ourselves we use a mixture of Tony Chachere’s and Nature Seasoning. We live in Louisiana and like for our food to be well seasoned. Some comparable seasoning would be…..

We are going to use the trivet that came with our Instant Pot. This will ensure that our chicken breasts get steamed rather than boiled.
We use the 8 qt. Instant Pot to prepare all our meals.
We also use a digital cooking thermometer like this. If you have any questions about what temperature something should be cooked at or reheated at you can check out FoodSafety.gov. That’s what we use.
Ingredients – Juicy Instant Pot Chicken Breasts and Gravy Recipe
- Chicken Breasts
- 1 cup Chicken Broth
- Your Seasoning of choice
Ingredients – Gravy
Instructions – Juicy Instant Pot Chicken Breasts and Gravy Recipe
#1. First place your trivet in your Instant Pot.
#2. Next add your 1 cup of chicken broth.
#3. Then place your seasoned chicken breast on your trivet.
#4. Close the lid and turn the steam release valve to the “sealing” position.
#5. Next, press the chicken/poultry cook button. Set the timer for 8 minutes per pound of chicken. (I use the Instant Pot cook time which is 6-8 minutes per pound for poultry.)
#6. After the timer has completed do a 10-minute natural pressure release. **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.
#7. We check our meat with a digital thermometer to make sure it has reached the required temperature immediately after opening the lid.
#8. Then, to make your gravy, use the juices in the bottom of your Instant Pot. Turn your Instant Pot on “Saute”. Mix a little cornstarch and about 1 cup of chicken broth in a bowl on the side. Next, mix it together with the juices that are left in your Instant Pot. Stir while it heats up. It only takes a few minutes before it starts to thicken. You can add more chicken broth for more gravy or to thin it out if needed.
