These Instant Pot Steak Fajitas were absolutely so easy to make and delicious! Thanks to the pressure cooker the meat absorbs so much flavor and is just fall apart tender. This combination makes for the best steak (beef) fajitas ever! We served them with a box of this Zatarains Yellow Rice.
I originally was going to use skirt steak but could not find any at my local grocery store. They had flank steak instead and it was already pre-cut perfectly for fajitas. I had never used flank steak for fajitas before but it turned out perfectly. I think I might try using flank steak in other Instant Pot Recipes also.

What Seasoning should I use for Fajitas?
We have used many different types of seasoning when making our fajitas. Some times we use a fajita packet, some times we use a Frontera Taco Seasoning Pack (liquid), or Morton Season All. We purchased Morton Season All for the first time recently and really like it. I think it gave these Instant Pot Steak Fajitas a really good flavor.
Will my bell peppers get soggy?
Since you have to cook beef longer to get it as tender as we like it for fajitas I chose to throw my bell peppers in as the last step. They turned out very well just by using the steam that was already in the pot after pressure cooking and turning on the saute function for just a few minutes with the lid on. They were not soggy at all.
Ingredients – Instant Pot Steak Fajitas
1.5 – 2 lbs. sliced flank steak (or your choice of beef)
1 Medium yellow onion
1 Tbsp of butter
Yellow, red, & orange bell peppers
2 tbsp season all or fajita seasoning (We like Morton Season All)
1 cup beef broth
Toppings – Instant Pot Steak Fajitas
Shredded cheese
Shredded lettuce
Guacamole- (we like these individual containers)
Sour cream
Red mild taco sauce or salsa
How do you make Instant Pot Steak Fajitas (Beef Fajitas)?
Instructions – Instant Pot Steak Fajitas (Beef Fajitas)
#1. First, brown your beef flank steak in Season All Seasoning or Fajita Seasoning.
#2. Once your beef/steak is browned add in 1 Tbsp of butter and your sliced onions. Allow your onions to caramelize on the bottom of your Instant Pot.
#3. Next, after steak and onions are browned add 1 cup of beef broth.
#4. Close lid and turn the steam release valve to the “sealing” position. Pressure cook on high pressure for 20 minutes. We like our beef to be fall apart tender.
#5. After the timer has completed allow your Instant Pot to natural release pressure for 10 minutes. Then quick release any remaining pressure. **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.
#6. Then open the lid and add in your sliced bell peppers. Put the lid back on and turn on saute for a few minutes to cook down your bell peppers.
#7. Your meal is ready to serve after this!
