We use the 8 qt. Instant Pot to prepare all our meals.

We also use a digital cooking thermometer like this.  If you have any question about what temperature something should be cooked at or reheated at you can check out FoodSafety.gov.  That’s what we use.

What should I serve with macaroni and cheese?

In my opinion, anything goes good with macaroni and cheese. 😊  I can tell you that the first time we made this recipe it came out perfectly!  Then we made an Instant Pot Cajun Shrimp Boil that was also very easy.

We had some leftover shrimp from the Instant Pot Cajun Shrimp Boil and plenty of leftover Instant Pot Mac and Cheese.  I heated up both the leftover shrimp and macaroni and cheese the next day and added some Velveeta Mexican cheese and a little milk to make a shrimp fettuccini!  It was delicious!

How do you cook pasta in a pressure cooker?

I know some of you may be wondering, “how do I cook pasta in a pressure cooker?”.  The high-pressure cook time is half of the cooking time that is written on the pasta package.  So if the pasta package says to boil the noodles for 10 minutes, then you pressure cook them for only 5 minutes.

Ingredients – Instant Pot Macaroni and Cheese

3 Cups of Macaroni Noodles

4 Cups of Water

1 Knorr Chicken Stock Tub

3 Cups of Shredded Cheese

3 Tbsp. of Butter

1 Cup of Milk

How to make macaroni in a pressure cooker?

#1.  First, add your macaroni noodles, 4 cups of water, and Knorr Chicken Stock Tub to your Instant Pot.  You could substitute the water and Knorr Chicken Stock Tub for 4 cups of liquid chicken stock also.

#2.  Then close the lid and turn the steam release valve to “sealing” position.

#3.  Next, press the pressure cook button.  Then press pressure level button until high pressure is selected.   Set the timer for 2 minutes.

#4.  After the timer has completed turn the steam release valve to “venting” for a quick release of steam.   **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.

#5.  Do not drain the water/stock from your Instant Pot.  Add your milk, butter, and shredded cheese.  Stir until it is all mixed together well.
