Can you cook pork chops and gravy in a pressure cooker?
Some people may be wondering if you can cook pork chops, and gravy, in your Instant Pot. You definitely can with this recipe. It is not your typical rice and gravy like you would cook in a Magnalite pot on the stove. Here in Louisiana people cook everything with a gravy in a Magnalite pot. It is delicious, but it also takes up too much time for me. With this easy pork chop pressure cooker recipe you can have a delicious pork chops and rice and gravy meal in under 30 minutes!
What goes good with pork chops?
Anything really goes good with pork chops and gravy in my opinion. Some of our favorites are listed below to help give you a few ideas!
- Rice and gravy
- Mashed potatoes and gravy
- Field peas
- Black eye peas
- Quick & Easy Potato Salad
- Instant Pot Macaroni and cheese
- Green beans
Ingredients – Instant Pot Boneless Pork Chops with Gravy
2 lbs. Boneless Pork Chops
2 Tbsp. oil or butter
1/2 Tbsp. Nature Seasoning or Tony Chachere’s
2 cups of water and 1/2 Knorr Beef Stock Tub
OR
2 cups of liquid Beef Stock
Instructions – Instant Pot Boneless Pork Chops with Gravy
#1. First, put your Instant Pot on sauté mode (high) and add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil or butter.
#2. Next, add your boneless pork chops and 1/2 tbsp. of Nature Seasoning or Tony Chachere’s and lightly brown both sides of your pork chops. I would not add anymore seasoning than this. I only want a little seasoning on the meat when I brown it. Otherwise, it will end up being too salty with the additional ingredients.
#3. Then pour two cups of water or your two cups of beef stock to deglaze the bottom of your pot. Use a wooden spoon or plastic spatula to scrape any pieces off of the bottom of your pot. If you are using 2 cups of water and 1/2 Knorr Beef Stock Tub this is when you would add your 1/2 Knorr Beef Stock Tub. Also, add your brown gravy packet and stir until they are all mixed well.
#4. Next, add your remaining ingredients to the top of your boneless pork chops. Do not stir.
#5. Then close the lid and turn the steam release valve to “sealing” position.
#6. Press the “Pressure Cook” button. Next, press “Pressure Level” button until you have selected “High Pressure”. **Please note- If your Instant Pot is still on sauté mode you will need to press “Cancel” then “Pressure Cook”.
#7. Turn the timer on for 7 minutes. Once pressure builds up, the timer will start counting down.
#8. After the timer has completed let it do a natural release for 10 minutes. Then turn the steam release valve to “Venting” to release the remaining pressure. **Warning – The steam is very hot, use a towel to turn the release valve so it does not burn you.
#9. Once you open your Instant Pot you will need to mix your gravy with the cream of chicken soup completely before serving. It mixes somewhat while pressure cooking but not completely.

2 Cups Water or 2 Cups (you can substitute water & Knorr for 2 cups beef stock)

2 Cups Beef Stock (Either use water or beef stock, not both)
The ingredients appear to have 6 cups of water or beef stock. Is this correct?

It is 2 Cups of water and 1/2 Knorr Concentrated Beef Stock Tub or 2 Cups of liquid beef stock. We use the Knorr Concentrated Beef Stock that comes in tiny plastic tubs that you mix with water. It is kind of like better than bouillon paste. I know not everyone has access to them so you can substitute that for just two cups and any liquid beef stock instead.

Thanks so much!
