With everyone staying home right now we are really not getting very much physical exercise. I wanted to find a way to incorporate some daily exercises into our routine. I also know that I am the type of person that needs to see that something is working in order to keep myself motivated. I need a couple of small “wins” in order to keep me going. Otherwise I will just quit after a week or two.
So, this is my thought process behind being able to see instant success to keep me motivated!!!
I track everything by the calories. So, if I eat a waffle for breakfast I do a quick google search for how many calories and write in the space provided. Continue this for lunch, dinner, and a snack. You add the calories up and get a total at the end of the day.
Then you do the same for your exercise for that day. Whatever exercise you do and for how long. Do a quick google search for how many calories you burned and write it in the space provided. You add them up and get a total at the end of the day.
Then you take your total food calories for the day and subtract your total exercise calories for the day to give you your remaining calories you consumed.
You are basically counting your calories for the day and subtracting how many you burned from your exercise.
Also, you can keep track of how many glasses of water you drink a day by filling in the little squares.
I did a google search for how many calories someone my age and height should consume a day to decide on what total number of calories I should aim for each day.
You can use this free fitness tracker printable with any exercise you choose. I plan on doing a combination of exercises that are on this Nintendo Ring Fit Adventure Workout game. This is another thing I use to try to keep myself motivated. The Nintendo Ring Fit Adventure has you complete a variety of different activities while you are trying to defeat a dragon. It is similar to playing a regular Nintendo game, but you have to actually physically move and jog in place in order to move throughout the game.
I am also going to try this Cubii JR. I just ordered it so I am not sure how well it will work yet. Since I am working from home right now and sitting at a desk for most of the day, I will use this Cubii JR to get some exercise in while I am at work!!!! It is a small under the desk elliptical. I am so excited! Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to work and exercise at the same time!! Two birds one stone. 😊
Plus, one more easy way to get some exercise in while doing your everyday tasks is with these resistance bands. I place one or two around my legs while I am cleaning my kitchen, sweeping, and mopping the floor. I get some extra exercise in at the same time as I am cleaning my house!
