#1.  Start a Blog

Starting a blog is a great way to make extra money. Blogging is a way for you to create a passive income stream.  There are numerous blogs that give detail on their income progress created through their blog.   If you are interested in creating your own blog, you can click here and follow my 10 easy steps to create a blog.  It only cost a couple of dollars a month. Then you have an easy way to sell PLR Digital Products right from your own website.

#2.  Usertesting

At Usertesting.com you can get paid to test out websites.  They will give you a website to go to with 3 or 4 tasks that you have to complete.  You have to speak your thoughts into a microphone as you are completing the tasks they ask you.  This helps companies know if their site is user-friendly. They also learn from your comments if there is anything they can improve on.  You get paid via PayPal 7 days from the time you complete a test.

They offer different types of test.  You can get paid $5.00 for tests on your phone, $10.00 for a 20-minute test on a p.c., or up to $60.00 for live conversations with a customer.

The amount of tests they offer you depends on the star ratings you are receiving on your completed tests from customers.

This is a great website to help you make extra money.  Also, you can click here to see an inexpensive headset they suggest you use.

#3.  Unclaimed Property

So technically this one is not a way for you to make extra money since it is already your money.  You just have to know how to claim it.

Unclaimed property can be your last paycheck from a place you worked at a decade ago and forgot about.  It could be a deposit from your first apartment or utility that you never collected.  Stocks, Bonds, and Insurance proceedings of your deceased relatives are also reported to the Treasury Department.

When we don’t collect our money, businesses report it to your state’s treasury department.  The treasury department holds onto it until the owner claims it.  This sounds crazy, I know.  But it is true.  I filled out my report with my state’s treasury department earlier this year.  They were able to find a last paycheck and a couple of utility deposits in my name.  They added up to about $250.00.  I was mailed a check from my state’s treasury department within two weeks.

You can go to this website, www.unclaimed.org, and it will send you to your states treasury department to see if you have any unclaimed money!  They suggest you check it periodically to see if anyone has reported anything recently.

#4.  Rent Just a Room or Your Whole Home While Away

If you don’t mind living with someone else, you can rent a room in your home and charge weekly or monthly.  Or you can even rent out your home while you go on vacation.  This is an easy way to make extra money to help fund your own vacation.

You can advertise it to only people you know, or you can list it on Craigslist.com, Airbnb.com, and RentalSpot.com.   If you choose Airbnb, they cover every booking with property damage protection and insurance against accidents.

#5.  Rent Your Vehicle

If you’re not getting a ton of use out of your vehicle, and you live in or near a major city, why not use it to make extra money? With the two websites below you can list pictures of your car and the times that it is available for someone else to use.  You can charge hourly or by the day.  The good news about insurance is that the two companies listed below take care of it when you sign up with them.

  • Outdoorsy.com
  • RVShare.com

With both of these sites, they offer insurance, 24/7 roadside assistance, and renter verification checks.

#7.  Errand Runner

If you have a vehicle and a smartphone,  you can pick up food or other items that someone has ordered and bring it to them.  It could be dry cleaning or maybe something from a local drug store.  Try these four websites for more information in your area.

I would suggest for you to sign up with as many different sites as possible. Then take the time to learn the best ways from each to maximize your earnings with the least amount of effort and time required.  They can easily be done while you are watching tv and some of them even pay you to watch tv.

  • Decluttr.com (will buy cd’s, dvd’s, games, consoles, books, phones, tablets and legos)
  • Amazon Trade In ( trade in text books, kindles, or gaming devices for amazon gift cards)

  • Craigslist

  • Sell them to Cardpool.com and get up to 92% cash back for them.
  • Exchange them for an Amazon gift card at cardcash.com.
  • Trade it for cash at a GiftCardBin.com store.

#13.  Craigslist

There are a ton of random things posted on Craigslist that you can do to make extra money.  Some people use the “Gigs” section of Craigslist as their 2nd income, or “side hustle”.

Some of the different “Gigs” posted are sign spinners, restaurant evaluators, Event Staff, and Property Maintenance.  If you can find one thing to do on the weekend or your day off each week you could save a good bit of extra money each month.

The surprising thing about these “odd” jobs listed is that almost all of them pay well above minimum wage.  Also, another added bonus is that with most of them you get paid that day.

You won’t always get picked for the job. But, if you are friendly and ask them to consider you for their next job, you just might get first option to it before they resort to posting on Craigslist.

#14.  Walk Dog or Pet Sit

If you have a home with a yard you can pet sit while someone is away.  Or, if you may be able to stay at someone else’s home to look after their fur baby.

Maybe they just need someone to go over every day to feed and walk their pet.  Whatever the case you can sign up with any of these sites to be matched with people in your area to make extra money.

  • Rover.com
  • Care.com
  • Dogvacay.com
  • Fetchpetcare.com
  • Petsit.com
  • Wagwalking.com

If you are not sure how much to charge for this service, you can go here to see what the hourly rate is going for in your area

#15.  Babysit/Nanny

You can watch other’s children on weekends or just while they are running errands.  Hourly rates for babysitting has started going up in recent years.

Below are some websites where you can post your availability and find new listings to make extra money.

  • Care.com
  • Craigslist.com
  • Indeed.com
  • Sittercity.com

Also, it is good to have additional skills as a selling point such as CPR and first aid certification.  If this is something that you enjoy doing and would want to pursue on a more regular basis you can find a CPR class in most areas that is done yearly as a public service to become certified.  What parent wouldn’t feel more at ease knowing their babysitter for the night will be able to handle an emergency situation?

 #16.  Uber/Lyft

Get paid to bring people places.  If you have a vehicle and enjoy meeting new people why not?  You can even drive for both Uber and Lyft at the same time to maximize your earning potential.

Also, you can pick up someone on your way into work at your day job.  If you set your destination into the app for Uber and/or Lyft, they will locate people that are needing rides along or near your route.  This way you make extra money driving in the direction you already needed to go!

#17 Yard Maintenance

If you enjoy working outside and need a side hustle where you can set your own hours, then yard maintenance might be a good idea for you.

You can start small if you don’t have the equipment and work your way up.  Maybe you know someone who owns the yard equipment but is not able to get out and mow.  You can offer to do their yard maintenance with their equipment.  Then re-invest your earnings into your own mower, blower, etc.

#18.  Handy Man or Woman (Not Just Handy but Helpful)

If you have a certain skill that you can offer in your spare time, or if you just have spare time to help someone out with their daily tasks you can make extra money.

There are many different ways you can find someone who needs your help.   It doesn’t necessarily have to be manual labor as in drill and power tools required kind of work.  Someone might need your help hanging a picture on a wall.  They might want to pay you to deliver something to someone, or help them unpack boxes.

Whether the task is large or small there are websites and apps that can help you find these people.  Below are just a few.

  • Craigslist
  • Thumbtack.com (This one is for someone with a certain trade or skill)
  • TaskRabbit.com (This one is for help with anything from small daily chores or manual labor)

Bonus -> #19.  Virtual Assistant or Freelance Work

There are multiple websites you can use to find V.A. or freelance work.  It can range from admin work, transcription, marketing, or website design.  Below are a few websites where this type of work is posted.

  • Upwork.com
  • Freelancer.com
  • WeWorkRemotely.com
  • Fiverr.com
  • Elance.com
  • HireMyMom.com
  • ProBlogger.com
  • Zirtual.com
